RUBIDIUM Series 1 & 3 AI / DI / XI modules:
The hardware of these modules includes the serial interfaces RS232, RS422 and RS485, 4 x GPIO, one relay contact and a video channel corresponding to the type of the module:
Different character fonts and character sizes are selectable. Inside of the screen’s limitations, the inserted window can be positioned at will. At least one option has to be selected for each module. A combination of options is only possible if specified. The following options are available:
Option D Available for AI/DI/XI An external reference (GPS, MSF) delivers a pulse per second (PPS), as well as time and date information via serial interface. The module decodes these data, calculates the local time, and visibly inserts a precise time (HH:MM:SS:1/100) into a video signal. Different formats of time and date representation are selectable. The external reference isn’t included.
Option G Addition to option D This option includes an adapter cable, enabling an easy connection of the reference source.
Option T Addition to option D With this option a battery-buffered realtime chip is added. This chip enables time and date functionalities after power-on, even if no external reference has been connected. Time and date can be set manually. If an external reference is connected, the real-time chip will automatically be synchronized to the reference.
Option C Available for AI/DI/XI This option has been developed to let the module operate with an automation system. While the automation system runs a playlist, a simple command can be transmitted to transfer the clip length to the module. The module starts a DOWN counter, converts this time into an LTC, and visibly inserts the time. Two independent DOWN counters are available. Different communication protocols can be selected.
Option V Available for AI/DI VPS: Video Program System. A module with this option decodes the data of line 16 according to the European Standard EN 300 294. The decoded data can visibly be displayed on a screen. GPIO signal outputs are signalling the state of selected bits. This option may be combined with option W.
Option W Available for AI/DI WSS: Wide Screen Signalling. A module with this option decodes the data of line 23 according to the European Standard EN 300 294. The decoded data can visibly be displayed on a screen. GPIO signal outputs are signalling the state of selected bits. This option may be combined with option V.
Option I Available forAI/DI/XI With this option the GPIO inputs and outputs can process custom functionalities. This option may be combined with all other options. Four configurable function keys are located on the front panel, enabling a fast selection of functions or loading of preset profiles. Backlit keys and four signal LEDs indicate the status of the module. A blue identification button shows the model name (AI, DI, XI).
RUBIDIUM H1 DI module in H1 housing Up to fifteen separate user configurable insertion windows can be positioned at will. Each inserted window has its own character set, character / windows attributes and source data. This defines e.g. the size of the inserted window, the character size and type, as well as the character and mask color. The inserter’s specifications can be stored and recalled via the configuration program as a profile. These profiles can be selected via the front-sided backlit buttons or via the serial PC configuration port.
Up to eight character sets from the local characters memory are stored in the RUB module and can be recalled simultaneously for insertion. DI and XI modules have full multi-color insertions, whereas the AI module’s insertions are restricted to black and white, or shades of grey. All insertions are available with and without a mask. Brightness and color values are separately selectable (where applicable). Character size can be selected between 16 to 72lines (AI/DI), or 16 to 139 (XI) lines.
Functions common to all modules:
“Hot Swapping”, i.e. it is possible to insert or remove a module without interrupting the operation of other
modules inside of the same frame.
