UD series Displays:
The UD series includes various time and date displays. The "UD" can display Time Code, local time, another time zone or a stopwatch timer. A built-in quartz clock enables continuous operation even if a drop out of signal occurs. All displays are a six-digit format shown as hours, minutes and seconds, whereby with some models the seconds display is implemented with a rotating LED second ring with 60 individual LED's. The LED's have three selectable colors (red, green, yellow), are available in 25 or 56 mm heights and have an adjustable brightness selector. The brightness can be adjusted manually or can set to an automatic mode, where a photo sensor automatically adjusts the brightness depending on the current level of light in the room. Various universal interfaces are included, which enable a wide assortment of data or Time Codes to be displayed. This along with its MTD mode permits the display of various time zones and timers. |

All displays have numerous indication possibilities. All displays are available with one of two types of interfaces. One interface includes a LTC input, a RS 485 interface, a selectable RS422/232 interface and four GPI inputs (e.g. for a timer control keypad connection for "stopwatch" timer functions). There are several included serial protocol decoders available for the input data communicated via serial interface. These protocols are selected in the configuration mode of the display. An Alpermann+Velte specially developed MTD protocol mode is also included. This "MTD" signal organises the transmission of up to sixteen different times or timers (including their display format) into available user bits in the LTC signal. This new LTC(MTD) signal now encompasses a real time accurate LTC and these sixteen additional times. |

The second available interface is an Ethernet interface. Displays with the final designation E (UDxxxE) have a built in Ethernet interface in place of the before mentioned interfaces. MTD, NTP (Client) and PTP are the standard protocols which are supported. Several different time server addresses can be inputted (selected), in order to "bridge" a signal that may be lost from an individual time server. A SNMP monitoring is optionally available. |

The configuration of the display, the selection of available display formats, bright-ness and colors are selected via the USB interface and included software or via a standard internet browser (if an Ethernet interface is available). Software updates are made using the standard USB interface. |
